Day One done and gone... On to Day Two

First of all,  the daily budget came in, according to my calculations at $1.72 on a diet centered on rice and beans. And chicken wieners (three of them).  Breakfast was tea, a half pita (from a massively discounted package found at my local discount grocer), and an egg (also found a dozen at a low price from a farmer who sells to the local market).  Skipped lunch and had an early dinner (5pm).  For the most part, I can say the target budget was achieved.  However, I can't say the food was thoroughly enjoyed.

Thought for Day One.  By just creating such a low food budget, the thought of how one has feed oneself becomes top of mind always.  That is also how it is for those who live it every day from what I have been told by people who have had lived it for a time in their lives.  The mental energy spent on making sure you have enough to eat displaces the ability to think of the kinds of things we like to think about and are more fun.  You can only imagine how that influences every thing.
